Emirates Internet and Multimedia (EIM) has announced that Internet subscribers in the UAE could now pay their Internet bills online, according to Khaleej Times on Monday.

The new facility, which is being introduced in association with Comtrust, Etisalat's e-commerce division, became effective last week, said the paper.

Maroua Naim, EIM general manager told the daily that "the new value-added service offers customers flexibility of paying their Internet bills from home, while being assured of the integrity of their online transactions. The online payment service will enable merchants and e-commerce enabled organizations to initiate the authorization and settlement of online transactions with their acquiring banks.”

The company is using the Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology to provide security for bill payments made through credit cards, said the report – Albawaba.com
