An Iran Air flight made an emergency landing overnight in Shiraz after the Boeing 727's landing gear jammed, state radio said Friday.
The plane, carrying 159 passengers and crewmembers, had been flying to the southern Iranian city from Tehran.
"After two hours of fear and worry among the passengers, the pilot of the Boeing decided to land despite blocked landing gear," the radio said, adding that no one was injured.
Such incidents are rare in Iran, even though Iran Air's fleet has had practically no renovations since 1979, when the United States declared an embargo on Iran after the Islamic Revolution.
Iran Air, which has been carrying a record number of passengers, owns some 30 airplanes, most of them made by US aerospace giant Boeing - TEHRAN (AFP)
