Iran: Army is ready

General Headquarters of the Iranian Armed Forces said in a statement on Wednesday that Iran is well-prepared to deal with the threats posed by the enemies. According to IRNA, the statement recalled anniversary of Iraqi invasion of Iran on September 21, 1980 and said the Iranian Armed Forces are in full preparedness to stand up to any possible attack on Iran.

 

"Currently, the hypocritic nature of the US and its allies has come to light more than ever in the international campaign against terrorism. What is going on in Afghanistan and Iraq proved brutality and plundering wealth of the two nations," the statement said.

 

The General Headquarters of the Armed Forces said that the Iranian nation would utilize the experience of eight-year war to double efforts for reconstruction and development of the country in light of capability of the Iranian youth. "The General Headquarters of the Armed Forces is well aware of current situation in the region and has mobilized its forces in the Army of the Islamic Republic, the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), the Defense Ministry, the Basij (volunteer forces) and the Islamic Republic of Iran Police (IRIP) to defend the country and the aspirations of the late Imam Khomeini," the statement said.
