Iran is an important country in the region, Azeri President Heydar Aliyev said at a Sunday meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister Kamal Kharrazi.
Aliyev called for the development of bilateral cooperation between the countries in all fields, including trade, economics, regional and international cooperation.
On his part, Kharrazi announced the readiness of the Islamic Republic to develop relations with Azerbaijan, and added that any attempts to enhance trade and economic cooperation, especially between private companies, would be a step forward for both nations, according to IRNA.
Regional cooperation would contribute to peace and economic development, Kharrazi said. He expressed hope for the soonest implementation of bilateral agreements on the issues of regional and international cooperation. (Albawaba.com)
