ALBAWABA - Iran announced Saturday the closure of the Strait of Hormuz again, according to Iran's Khatam al-Anbiya Headquarters.

Iranian Khatam al-Anbiya Headquarters said the Strait of Hormuz was closed in response to Israel's ongoing violations of the ceasefire in southern Lebanon.

The Islamic Republic further noted that it will send a delegation to Switzerland to "seek implementation" of U.S. commitments on the memorandum of understanding (MoU) and determine how Washington will ‘fulfil obligations’.

Earlier, U.S. Vice President JD Vance said that talks with Iran could be planned 'as soon as' Sunday, adding envoys are already on the ground for technical elements of negotiations.

Reuters reported that Israeli strikes in Lebanon killed at ‌least 16 people today despite a ceasefire, according to the Lebanese Civil Defence.

This came hours after a ceasefire between Israel and the Lebanese group, Hezbollah, took effect. Tel Aviv claimed that the attacks are in response to projectiles fired by the Iran-backed group.

Lebanon's National News Agency (NNA) mentioned that Israeli military jets and drones had attacked multiple locations in the south and the Bekaa Valley.
