Deputy Managing Director of National Iranian Oil Engineering and Construction Company (NIOECC) Hossein Karimi Ashtiani was quoted by the agency as saying that the "Korpedjeh refinery has the capacity of refining 26 million cubic meters of gas per day, adding that the refinery has been provided with an additional unit which increases its capacity to 33 million cubic meters."

The refinery is part of a $190 million project to pipe the Turkmen gas to Iran, he said adding that Iranian technicians have also implemented the project to lay a 135 KM 40-inch gas pipeline from Korpedjeh, Turkmenistan to Iranian border.

He said that 35 percent of the value of the Turkmen gas being piped to Iran is paid to NIOECC for the cost of the project and the remainder is being paid to the Turkmen Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas -- Albawaba.com
