Iranian Vice-President and Head of the Physical Education Organization (PEO) Mohsen Mehralizadeh, and Cuban First Vice-President Carlos Lage Davila met late last week in Cuba's capital city of Havana and discussed further
enhancement of bilateral cooperation.
In the course of the visit, in which Iran's Ambassador to Havana Davoud Salehi was also present, the two officials called for the promotion of Iran-Cuba ties at the international level in order to counter the United States hostile policy against the two countries, IRNA reported.
In addition, the two sides condemned Washington's efforts at the United Nations Human Rights Committee against both Iran and Cuba.
Meanwhile, the Iranian PEO head emphasized the need for exchange of sports experiences and sports delegations between the two countries as well as carrying out joint long-term sports projects.
While in Havana, Mehralizadeh inspected a few sports sites and became familiar with activities of those centers. (Albawaba.com)
