Earthquakes shook Iran Thursday, killing at least one and injuring 30, according to Reuters.

The quake erupted in the southern town of Bastak which is 1,200 km (750 miles) from Tehran. The 5.5 Richter scale quake has damaged many buildings and electricity lines.

Local officials told Reuters that rescue workers have already been deployed to clean up the scene and electricity has been restored.
