Iran's Foreign Minister Kamal Kharrazi, leading a senior political-economic delegation, arrived in Beijing from New Delhi on Monday in the framework of a three-nation tour, which will also take him to Japan.
Earlier, on Sunday, Kharrazi restated that Tehran is very sensitive over the fate of Iranians living abroad and will use all its capabilities to defend their rights.
Speaking by phone with British Foreign Secretary Jack Straw, Kharrazi referred to the UK's arrest of former Iranian ambassador to Argentina, Hadi Soleimanpour and stressed that the event would "negatively affect mutual relations" between both countries, IRNA reported.
Furthermore, the Iranian Foreign Minister said that the court ruling is "political" and lacks any judicial and legal credit. He added that Soleimanpour is innocent
and should be released as soon as possible, the agency added.
On his part, Straw described as "important" Iran's views,
and stressed that mutual talks over the issue would continue. (Albawaba.com)
