Two Iranian lawyers who irked Iran's hard-liners by representing leading liberal opposition figures and student groups have been arrested and sent to jail, their relatives told AFP Tuesday.
Mohammad-Ali Dadkhah, a lawyer for leading members of the banned Iran Freedom Movement, led by Ebrahim Yazdi, was jailed on Monday for five months after the Supreme Court upheld a guilty verdict for his "distributing false information".
Another lawyer, Abdolfatah Soltani, was detained and jailed Tuesday on the same charge. He was the lawyer of leading nationalist figures accused of plotting to overthrow the Islamic regime. (Albawaba.com)
