Iran marks Eid-ul-Fitr on Sunday

Sunday, the 14th of November, will be the Eid-ul-Fitr, that is the principal religious feast in Iran following the sighting Saturday night of the crescent of the new moon that is sign of the advent of the lunar Hejira month of Shawal. According to IRNA, Iaran's Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei, Saturday issued a communique confirming the sighting of the new moon and the advent of the month of Shawal. Congregational prayers on the occasion will be performed nationally at the Mussallah of Imam Khomeini on Resalat expressway early Sunday morning.
