Director-General of International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Mohamed ElBaradei arrived in Tehran Thursday morning. According to IRNA, his visit is upon an invitation extended by Iran's Atomic Energy Organization (IAEO) head Gholam-Reza Aqazadeh.
The IAEA chief is scheduled to meet with senior Iranian officials and hold consultations with them on the continuation of Iran's cooperation with the IAEA.
Shortly before his arrival, President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said Iran will not back away from its right to enrich uranium. "Today, our situation has changed and we are a nuclear country and we are talking to others from that position," he was quoted as saying by the official IRNA news agency.
"We will not hold talks with anyone about the Iranian nation's right (to enrichment) and no one has the right to step back, even one iota," he noted.
