Iran on Sunday said the US had planned to establish missile bases in Europe to forge security dominance over the region. "The US plan aims to deal with the Russian and Chinese missile capability," Foreign Ministry spokesman Mohammad Ali Hosseini told reporters in his weekly press briefing.
Hosseini added Iran does not favor prolonged talks to resolve the dispute over the national nuclear program.
"We have made it clear that we would leave doors open for negotiations," he said asked whether Iran would continue the talks in case of adoption of a new anti-Iran resolution by the UN Security Council. "If the other party has a specific plan and is serious in talks, we are ready to continue negotiations," he added.
Hosseini said that talks should have a distinctive agenda. He said, "Holding talks to resolve the dispute is something positive. The exact date of the talks has not been decided yet. "The two parties have agreed on certain topics to be left for expert studies."
