Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesman Mohammad-Ali Hosseini on Sunday announced that no change will be made in approaches and objectives of Tehran's nuclear program. Talking to reporters, he said, "There is full solidarity between officials and the nation inside and outside the country in the area of objectives of Iran's peaceful nuclear activities and the activities will continue with full capacity."
Meanwhile, President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on Sunday appointed Saeed Jalili as Secretary of Supreme National Security Council (SNSC). The appointment was made after the president accepted resignation of former SNSC secretary Ali Larijani on Saturday.
"I hope that by relying upon Almighty God and enjoying services of capable and faithful experts and accurate planning, you will be successful in carrying out your responsibility to safeguard national interest and security," the president said in his letter to Jalili, who will be responsible from now on to the nuclear file.
The president also appreciated Larijani's services.
Larijani is expected to accompany Jalili to negotiations with EU foreign policy chief Javier Solana scheduled to be held in Rome on Tuesday.
