Tehran's city council has been dissolved by the Board of Arbitration, following quarrels between factions supporting and opposing Mayor Mohammad-Hasan Malek Madani, according to IRNA news agency Tuesday.

The disagreements have blocked a vote on the city budget, with the reformist-majority body failing to meet during all that time for lack of a quorum.

With the dissolution of the city council, the interior ministry will be responsible for deciding the capital’s policy. (Albawaba.com)
