Partial election results in Iran have shown that incumbent President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has gained a massive win over his rival Mir-Hossein Mousavi. According to Fars news agency, an Interior Ministry statement said that after 78% of ballot boxes counted, Ahmadinejad has had 18,787,766 votes (64.98%), while his closest rival Mir Hossein Mousavi has won just 9,269,998 votes (32.06%).
Another candidate, former chief commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Mohsen Rezai Mir-Qaed is third with 594,864 votes (2.05%) and former Iranian Parliament Speaker Mehdi Karroubi is last with 257,061 votes (0.88%) cast in his favor.
The Iranian interior ministry announced that the final results of the presidential election would be declared later Saturday.
