The Iranian government supports a bill to revise Iran's ties with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), currently under review by the Majlis, Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki said on Tuesday. According to IRNA, Mottaki made this comment at the end of Majlis session held Tuesday behind closed doors.
The minister attended the session to brief MPs on the latest developments with respect to Iran's nuclear case and the 1737 UN Security Council resolution adopted Saturday. "I should have given information to the Majlis deputies on nuclear issues," he said.
Meanwhile, Deputy Foreign Minister Mehdi Mostafavi said on Tuesday that the UNSC anti-Iran resolution on imposition of sanction against the country will not affect people's daily life.
Speaking to reporters, Mostafavi said that according to the government's projections, sanctions will not leave any impact on the people's trend of earning a living. "The government, people and Majlis are willing to access nuclear technology for peaceful purposes. People are always prepared to support the ruling system's high goals. "Given that we consider nuclear energy as a strategic requirement and that Iran's long-term demands are significant, we are ready to go through any expense to this effect," he added.
Adding that the resolution does not have considerable effect on domestic developments, he noted that trade exchanges and economic activities are bilateral, not unilateral.
