Iran’s Intelligence Minister Ali Yunesi arrived in Azerbaijan, Iran's northern neighbor, on Wednesday for talks with officials, the Iranian embassy in Baku said.
An embassy spokesman told AFP news agency that Yunesi would have a series of meetings during his three-day visit, however the main focus would be on talks with his Azeri counterpart, National Security Minister Namiq Abbassov. The Azeri press reported that Yunesi was making a reciprocal visit after Abbassov traveled to Tehran earlier this summer.
Azerbaijan and Iran are disputing ownership of potentially lucrative oil prospects in the Caspian Sea, while Azerbaijan has also angered Tehran by pursuing strongly pro-Western policies. (Albawaba.com)
