Jordanian security forces recently foiled a terror plot in the Kingdom and arrested a suspected terrorist from the Iranian supported Bayt al-Makdis group, Jordanian newspaper Al-Rai reported on Monday.

The suspect intended to carry out a terrorist attack in Jordan and a large amount of explosives were uncovered following his arrest in northern Jordan, a source told Al-Rai.

The source said a military tribunal will hold on Monday its first session following the suspect's arrest. The accused holds joint Iraqi and Norwegian citizenship, according to the report.

Jordanian security forces seized forty-five kilograms that the accused had hidden. The source said that the amount of explosives was the largest that has been seized in years.
