ALBAWABA - Missiles and drones launched from Iran fell near Nakhchivan Airport in Azerbaijan, a source ​close to the Azerbaijani ​government told Reuters on Thursday. 

A fire erupted near the airport following the incident, ​the source further mentioned. No official statement has yet been made by the government.

Reuters revealed that the number of missiles and drones that fell is unknown yet. 

On the other hand, AFP cited the Azerbaijani media that two drones crossed from Iran before one of them struck Nakhichevan's airport.

Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry condemned the attacks that resulted in two people being injured and said the country reserves the right to respond. It also summoned the Iranian ambassador following the attack on Nakhchivan.
