Iran's Secretary of Supreme National Security Council Ali Larijani arrived in Ankara Wednesday to hold talks with the EU foreign policy chief Javier Solana. The top nuclear negotiator, who is heading a delegation, attended a luncheon by Turkey's Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan Wednesday.
The first round of talks between Larijani and Solana is scheduled to start Wednesday evening, IRNA reported.
Upon his arrival to the Turkish capital, the senior Iranian official said his country welcomes "precise and correct talks for the resolution of the nuclear issue".
Larijani added: "Our stance has always been that we've welcomed precise and correct talks for the resolution of the problem. But the other side had set preconditions and these preconditions had created a situation in practice in which talks were not taking place."
