Iranian president starts UAE visit

Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and the UAE President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed al-Nahayan started on Sunday held talks in presence of the two countries' senior officials.

 

President Ahmadinejad arrived in Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates, Sunday at the invitation of UAE president al-Nahayan on a two-day visit. According to IRNA, Ahmadinejad and al-Nahayan exchanged views on bilateral relations and regional and international issues.

 

The Iranian president and his accompanying delegation are to attend a luncheon hosted by al-Nahayan after their official talks.

 

Ahmadinejad is the first Iranian president to visit in the UAE since 1979.
