The Iranian province of Hamedan and Tajikistan's Khatlan Province have signed an agreement to expand mutual cultural and economic cooperation, said reports.
The agreement was reached during the visit of an Iranian delegation to Tajikistan. Ali Jaberian, Governor General of Hamedan, and Babajan Muratov, head of Kulab government in Khatlan Province signed the accord for their respective governments on Friday.
The accord calls for exchanging students, holding sporting events and organizing economic and cultural fairs in Kulab, Jaberian told Iranian news agency (IRNA).
Jaberian said that in his meetings with Tajik officials, the Tajik side had proposed export of glassware from Hamedan to Kulab for use in the agricultural processing industries.
He said the two sides had also held talks on exchange of tourists between Hamedan and Kulab. Experts are to go to Kulab from Hamedan to set up a pasteurized milk plant, he added.
The officials of Khatlan province also called for the import of anti-humidity insulators from Iran in exchange for export of the agricultural and horticultural products – Albawaba.com
