A 20-year-old Iranian bachelor has married a 77-year-old virgin in a village in the Iranian province of Khorassan, a local official told Iranian news agency (IRNA) Tuesday.
The motive of the young man, according to the official, was that he sought to entitle himself to a waiver of a portion of his military service.
The statutory conscription service period for married persons in Iran is half of that for unmarried persons, according to the agency.
The case is not typical of marriages where the groom is much younger than the bride. In many cases, the man would be seeking money and an easy life offered by his wife, but the Iranian bachelor is to pay a million rial to the bride “upon her request.” – Albawaba.com
