Iran's deposits in UK banks reached over 7 billion dollars last year, reported the Iranian News Agency (IRNA), citing a bank report.
The Bank of England said that Iranian deposits rose to 7.042 billion dollars by the end of the fourth quarter of 2000. "This shows a rise of over one billion, comprising a 17 percent over the previous quarter," said the report.
The deposits accounted for 54 percent of all deposits Iran was holding at overseas banks at the end of last year.
Bank of International Settlements said previously that Iran's deposits in foreign banks reached 13 billion dollars, the highest level for at least 17 years - Albawaba.com
