Iran's Foreign Minister, Kamal Kharrazi, said Thursday that if the crisis in the Palestinian lands is not dealt with at the core, and the fundamental rights of Palestinians are not observed, calm cannot be restored to the region, reported Iran News Agency (IRNA).

Kharrazi told four leaders of Palestine Resistance Group Hamas that the "silence of the international community towards the crimes of the Zionist regime crimes is deplorable."

Meanwhile, Kharrazi hailed the "important role of Hamas in popular struggles of

Palestine against occupiers and said that Iran supports the cause of

Palestine, especially the liberation of the holy Qods," IRNA said.

He stressed the importance of all-out support by Muslim states for the aspirations of the Palestinians.

"Holy Qods is an Islamic aspiration and belongs to all Muslims; the world of Islam supports the liberation of Qods and the acceptance of the city as capital of the independent state of Palestine," said Kharrazi.

Iranian President called Wednesday for an urgent meeting of members of the Organization of Islamic Conference - Albawaba.com
