Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei said on Thursday that Tehran will give crushing response to the US, if the United States attacks Iran. "It is not the first time that the US attempted to commit aggression on Iran. The US has done so in the past and normally it will get response for any attack," the Supreme Leader said in a meeting with commanders of Iranian Air Force.
"On February 11, the people will show on the streets of the cities across the country that they are on the scene to defend achievements of the Islamic Revolution."
The Supreme Leader said that the enemy knows well that any invasion would be followed by a comprehensive reaction to the invaders and their interests. "Some people say that the US president is not a kind of person to calculate the consequences of his actions, but it is possible to bring this kind of people to wisdom," the Supreme Leader said, according to IRNA.
"The US policymakers and analysts know that the Iranian nation would not let an invasion go without a response," he added.
Elsewhere is his address, the Supreme Leader expressed abhorrence at sacrilege of al-Aqsa Mosque by Israel.
Ayatollah Khamenei recalled rumors about his own health and said, "Enemies of the Islamic system spread rumors about (my) health to weaken morale of the Iranian nation for a short term, but hey did not know that they are not dealing with only one person in Iran. They are facing a nation."
