Seven people were killed in two bomb attacks in Iraq on Thursday, AP has reported.
The attacks, on a bus station and a convoy carrying the head of a university also left 17 people injured.
A car exploded next to a bus station in the predominantly Shiite neighborhood of Hurriyah as commuters queued to catch a ride to work. The blast killed five and wounded 15 others.
The blasts come amid rising sectarian tension in Iraq, stoked by discontent among Sunnis, which has led to mass protests in Anbar province. A standoff between Baghdad and Kurdish peshmerga fighters in the north has added to fears of renewed civil strife.
A roadside bomb also went off on Thursday, hitting a convoy carrying head of Diyala Univerisity Fadhil al-Dulaimi near Baqouba city.
No group has yet claimed responsibility for the attacks.
