A roadside bomb attack killed three American troops and an interpreter in the Iraqi province of Diyala, the U.S. military said on Tuesday, a day after a suicide bomber killed five U.S. soldiers in Baghdad.

The attack occurred on Monday, the military said in a statement, cited by Reuters.

On Monday, a bomber killed five U.S. troops on foot patrol in an upscale shopping district in central Baghdad. Hours later, a car bomb went off outside a hotel in the northern Kurdish city of Sulaimaniya, killing two people and injuring 30 in the first significant attack in that city in several years.
