The Iraqi parliament on Wednesday voted for a manual recount of nationwide elections held last month.

Also, the parliament voted in favor of appointing nine judges to run the country’s official electoral commission.

A total of 172 parliamentarians attended the session presided by Salim al-Jubouri, the parliament speaker.

The May 12 elections were the country's first parliamentary poll since 2014.
