Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi held talks with King Abdullah II in Amman Sunday, AFP reports.
Abadi called for greater cooperation with Jordan in the battle against Islamic State militants and discussed security challenges in the region, according to AFP.
“Our vision for the future is to develop political, economic, and trade ties,” Abadi said of the Iraqi-Jordanian relationship.
Jordan, one of Iraq’s neighbors, is part of the U.S.-led coalition carrying out air strikes against IS extremists in Iraq and Syria.
