Israeli troops killed a Palestinian early Friday morning during operations carried out in the village of Saida, Israel Radio reported.

Saida is located in Palestinian Authority-controlled area near the West Bank city of Tulkarem.

Infantry, tanks and engineering corps took part in the operations to search for Palestinian activists wanted by Israel as well as weapons.

Palestinian witnesses said that Israeli bulldozers demolished a home in the village belonging to Islamic Jihad member Jasser Abdul Rahni while he was inside. But it was also reported that the troops called for Abdul Rahni to leave the home, but he refused. After all of the inhabitants left, except for Abdul Rahni, shots were fired at the building and it was destroyed.

In Kfar Jaba, in Area B, the Israeli forces arrested two members of Islamic Jihad suspected of involvement in armed attacks against Israeli targets in the area.

A number of shooting incidents took place overnight Thursday in the West Bank and near Jerusalem in which there were no Israeli injuries. Palestinians opened fire at an Israeli post next to the Tunnels Road, an Israeli checkpoint south of Qalqilyah, and at the settlement of Psagot next to Ramallah. (Albawaba.com)
