The Israeli General Security Service has arrested two Palestinian intelligence members, one of them an officer, reported The Jerusalem Post Friday.
According to the daily, the two are suspected of involvement in recent shooting attacks against Israelis in the West Bank.
The two are under the command of head of the West Bank intelligence Department Brigadier Tawfiq Tirawi, the paper said, adding that the General Security Service is interrogating the two men.
Last week, four Israeli jeeps intercepted Tirawi while on his way from to Ramallah, and confiscated his VIP identification Card. The top security official was forced to walk for two kilometers before he was given a lift by a Palestinian.
According to the Oslo accords the VIP cards were granted to 400 Palestinian personnel in order to facilitate their movement in and out of the Palestinian territories – Albawaba.com
