ALBAWABA - Following a serious event that claimed the lives of seven innocent humanitarian workers, the Israeli occupation army has moved to take decisive action. Internal investigations and ensuing disciplinary measures have been spurred by the incident, which saw humanitarian workers being wrongly targeted.
Israeli military authorities claimed that mistakes in identification and decision-making were the reason behind the targeting of rescue workers. Most activists characterize it as a fresh attempt to conceal atrocities committed by Israel. Consequently, in the wake of internal investigations, a major support commander and a colonel officer were terminated.
In addition, a brigade commander, the commander of the 162nd Division, and the commander of the southern brigade have all received reprimands on the incident involving the central cooking crew.
The Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs has acted following the untimely death of a Polish charity worker in Gaza. The Israeli ambassador was called by the ministry to Warsaw today, Friday, in order to present a formal complaint document about the occurrence.
Poland's deputy foreign minister, Wojciech Fiński, made it clear that Poland wants disciplinary action taken against the Israeli soldiers who carried out the deadly attack on international aid workers, but that the Israeli ambassador would not be banished.
Fiński went on to say that Poland would like to participate in the Israeli probe into the strike that killed humanitarian workers last Monday. Israel has released some material, but he called it "unsatisfactory."
The internal probe turned up mistakes that could have saved the international cooking staff from being tragically targeted. The Israeli military underlined the seriousness with which they view such incidents and reaffirmed their commitment to learning from this episode and incorporating lessons into their current operations.
