ALBAWABA- In an interview with Al Jazeera, the UN Special Rapporteur on Human Rights in the Palestinian Territories stated that Israel's actions in Gaza amount to genocide, not war, as the humanitarian situation continues to deteriorate.

The UN Special Rapporteur on Human Rights in the Palestinian Territories further added that Arab countries are under U.S. pressure, preventing them from taking meaningful action against Israel's actions in Gaza.

The rapporteur criticized the Trump administration for aggressively advancing its agenda while the UN remains fragmented and ineffective.

She urged the Arab world to take decisive steps to stop what she described as genocide in Gaza, emphasizing that the UN does not serve all peoples equally.

She warned that Palestinian rights are eroding daily, while Israel continues to enjoy immunity without consequence.

The rapporteur further noted that despite Arab states normalizing relations with Israel, this has not curbed its actions, as it continues to act without restraint.

The rapporteur emphasized that enforcing international law is crucial to saving lives in both Gaza and the West Bank, where daily bombings and aid blockades are worsening the crisis.

Meanwhile, medical sources reported that 37 Palestinians were killed in Israeli airstrikes across Gaza since dawn. Israeli shelling, including tank fire, targeted Abasan, east of Khan Yunis, while three Palestinians were injured in an Israeli raid on Deir Ghazala, east of Jenin in the West Bank.

Yesterday alone, Israeli airstrikes killed at least 65 Palestinians, including two journalists. Since October 7, the Palestinian death toll has exceeded 50,000, with over 114,000 wounded—among them more than 17,000 children.
