Palestinian sources said Monday that Israeli forces operating in the West Bank town of Nablus arrested five Palestinians.

The sources said that the Israeli army carried out searches lasting a number of hours in the Nablus neighborhood of Refiddiya. Two of the arrested men were Tanzim activists.

And in Hebron, Israeli forces destroyed early Monday the home of Islamic Jihad activist, Taysir Muhammad Jamil al Shweik. Israeli sources said that in 2001 al Shweik dispatched a suicide bomber to carry out an attack inside Israel.

Elsewhere, Palestinian sources reported Monday that Israeli troops raided the offices of the Al-Quds University in Ramallah and carried out widespread searches. The sources said that soldiers searched the contents of computers and documents stored in the university's archive.
