Israeli police on Wednesday detained a Jordanian citizen who arrived in the coastal resort city of Eilat by swimming, the Israeli Broadcasting Corporation said.
Israeli police evacuated the beach of people, it said.
Israeli police said it deployed forces in Eilat over a "suspicion of a security incident."
There was no comment from Jordanian authorities on the incident.
