Israel and Egypt topped the list of countries receiving United States funds in a recent foreign aid bill, snaring $2.76 billion and $1.955 billion, respectively, reports said.
The US Senate Wednesday passed a $15.6 billion foreign aid bill for fiscal year 2002 that includes $5 billion in military aid to allies in the US-led war on terrorism, AFP said.
The bill, according to the agency, was delayed by an unrelated dispute over confirmation of candidates for federal judgeships, passed by a 96-2 vote. The fiscal year began October 1 – Albawaba.com
