Lauded as a rare-move, Israel has been elected to Vice-Chair the 19-nation committee of NGO's at the United Nations early Tuesday morning.
The committee is responsible for overseeing the work of human rights organizations. Israel will be representing the western nations as of Monday and will be in itself represented by Nadav Yesod.
Iran had attempted to be elected into this group but was unsuccessful in such attempts.
