ALBAWABA - According to Walla, which cited top Israeli sources, Israeli troops are stepping up their military presence in the West Bank with plans to extend operations and set up permanent military installations in Jenin.

In a confidential conference, Major General Avi Blot, a senior Israeli commander in the Central Command, said the Israeli army had discovered military facilities, such as weapon stores and monitoring posts, in northern West Bank refugee camps. He said that one of the most important lessons learned from the events of October 7 is that the IDF seeks to stop the establishment of organized armed organizations.

Concerns about the possible intensification of the confrontation in Gaza were also voiced by Israeli security officials, who cautioned about the consequences for military operations in the West Bank.

The Israeli Central Command is actively exploring the construction of permanent military outposts in Jenin, perhaps within the refugee camp or nearby, according to Israeli media outlets. To enable prompt operations in the area, a specialized military force would garrison these outposts.

After 24 days of nonstop assaults, Israeli troops have murdered 25 Palestinians, damaged vital infrastructure, and displaced at least 20,000 people, according to the Jenin Refugee Camp Media Committee. An already serious humanitarian catastrophe is being made worse by the region's current acute shortages of power, water, and other necessities.

The group claims that 74 houses and structures have been totally or partly damaged as a result of Israeli military actions and bombing.

Israeli soldiers conducted a significant assault into Nablus early Friday and sent more reinforcements into Tulkarm. Palestinian armed factions, such as the Al-Aqsa Martyrs' Brigades and the Al-Quds Brigades, engaged Israeli forces in gunfights and bomb strikes during the intense battles that broke out in the Askar Refugee Camp.
