Israel successfully tested out its US-backed Arrow missile defense system on Monday in preparation for a potential strike by Iran or Syria, Reuters reported.
The Israeli Defense Ministry issued a statement to say that the interceptor system, designed to safely shoot down non-conventional warheads, was functioning well.
The U.S. has said in the past that by bolstering Israeli defenses they have been able to convince the Jewish state not to engage in more aggressive behavior towards its neighbors.
Israel is particularly concerned about the potential for Iran to create and use a nuclear weapon. On Sunday, the Persian nation reported finding new uranium deposits that would allow for increased nuclear power usage.
However, Iran has also agreed to engage in the latest round of nuclear talks in Kazakhstan and insists that it is not intending to make a nuclear bomb.
