Israeli forces killed four Palestinians in the West Bank on Saturday. Three Palestinians were ambushed while riding in a vehicle in Jenin.
The victims included two members of the Al Aqsa Martyrs' Brigades and a member of the Islamic Jihad.
Earlier, Israeli forces operating in a village outside the West Bank town of Jenin shot dead a Palestinian policeman, Palestinian security sources said on Saturday. According to them, an Israeli force operating in the village of Kafr Dan had surrounded the family home of Muhammad Abed before breaking into the home and shooting in all directions. Witnesses said the man was not involved in the fighting and he was shot through the window of his house.
Abed, 23, was a member of al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, the military wing of the mainstream Fatah movement, the sources said.
In the Gaza Strip, armed assailants set off explosives at an international school in northern Gaza Strip early Saturday, damaging the building, Palestinian security officials said.
The attack took place around 5 a.m., several hours before the start of the school day. The attackers overpowered security guards, then set off bombs in several areas of the school, security officials said.
The American International School, one of Gaza's best private schools, was founded in 1995 and has more than 600 students. In March 2006, the Dutch principal and an Australian teacher were briefly kidnapped, and foreign teachers left after that incident.
