ALBAWABA - The Southern Command of the Israeli army is preparing to carry out airstrikes on military sites inthe Gaza Strip in response to the injury of an Israeli officer, Ynet news reported on Wednesday.
According to The Jerusalem Post, a reserve officer was severely injured on Tuesday night during routine operational activity near the yellow line in northern Gaza.
The army said that gunmen opened fire on troops, leading to the injury of an Israeli officer.
The Israeli army revealed that armored units and Israel Air Force aircraft struck targets in the area and called the incident a "violation of the current ceasefire deal".
A statement released by the military confirmed that the officer was evacuated to a hospital and the injured man's family was notified.
