Israel target towns in Southern Lebanon with phosphorus bombs

ALBAWABA - According to local media, Israeli soldiers dropped phosphorus bombs on communities in Nabatiyeh, southern Lebanon, on Saturday, followed by airstrikes on Tyre.

According to the Lebanese National News Agency, Israeli airstrikes targeted regions surrounding the villages of Al-Ayshiyeh, Sajd, and Jermak in the Jezzine district of the South Governorate.

Meanwhile, Israeli officials confirmed on Sunday that a sergeant and a soldier were killed in recent fighting in southern Lebanon. 

According to reports, one of the soldiers was Gilad Almalih, who was killed on Saturday during action with resistance elements in southern Lebanon, along with a reserve officer. 

Earlier, Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi admitted that the army had sustained considerable losses in continuing engagements in Lebanon and Gaza. In a statement honoring the slain soldiers, Halevi acknowledged the war's costly cost, adding, "We have sustained heavy and painful losses and continue to fight to retrieve captives."
