ALBAWABA - The Wall Street Journal uncovered, citing senior US officials, new details about how Israel attacked Doha, Qatar, on Sept. 9, targeting senior Hamas officials.
The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) said, citing American officials, that Israeli warplanes launched ballistic missiles from the Red Sea toward the Qatari capital.
They added that during the bombing, Israel used ballistic missiles launched by F-15 and F-35 fighter jets from the Red Sea towards Doha, according to the WSJ report.
The American newspaper further noted that the Israeli attack, which took place last Tuesday, relied on launching long-range missiles while avoiding Arab airspace, leaving the administration of US President Donald Trump in the dark until the very last moment, according to White House officials.
Officials also mentioned that Israel did not notify the US military of the attack until minutes before it was carried out, and did not initially provide accurate information about the target.
Several blasts were reported in the Qatari capital, Doha, on Tuesday, as Israel targets senior Hamas officials.
Smoke was seen rising over the Katara District following the explosion sounds, an eyewitness said, Reuters reported.
The IDF released a statement confirming targeting Hamas officials in Qatar, but stressed that "prior to the strike, measures were taken in order to mitigate harm to civilians, including the use of precise munitions and additional intelligence."
