The Israeli army was shelling the West Bank city of Hebron Sunday evening, reported Al-Jazira satellite channel, adding that there were reports of an exchange of fire between Israeli soldiers and armed Palestinians.
According to AFP, three Palestinians were wounded, one seriously, in the gun battle.
The most badly hurt was a 12-year-old boy who was apparently taking no part in the confrontation, a hospital official told the agency.
Haaretz newspaper reported that Jewish settlers scuffled with Palestinian vendors, knocking over their vegetable stands.
Al-Jazira also added that clashes flared between Palestinians and Israeli troops in Qalqilya, Bethlehem and Ramallah. There were no immediate reports of injuries.
In the West Bank city of Nablus, gun battle raged in the Askar refugee camp, said Haaretz, but no injuries were reported.
The TV report added that Jewish settlers and Israeli soldiers attacked Palestinians in their cars, and there were reports of an exchange of fire in several West Bank cities.
In Gaza Strip, the paper said that five Palestinians were wounded in clashes at Beit Hanoun crossing point (known to Israelis as Erez).
The clashes began after Palestinian workers crowded near the crossing, and hurled stones at Israeli soldiers, who then returned fire, according to the paper -- (Several Sources)
