ALBAWABA - A senior Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) officer claims a new Alexander Brigade commander ordered genocide in Lebanon.
The brigade's mental health officer, Adi Angert, posted this on X, sparking uproar. Angert told KAN and Channel 12 that Besal, the leader, issued a message to his men immediately after taking over. The commander wrote, "The brigade has a new chief. Expect slaughter from warriors. Leave Lebanon's communities and roadways empty."
In another tweet, Angert called troops from the ultra-nationalist "Religious Zionism" party, led by Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich, a "sect of death eaters."
In response, Knesset Constitution, Law, and Justice Committee Chairman Simcha Rothman wrote a formal letter to the Defense Minister, Chief of Staff, and Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee chairman demanding them to discipline Angert.
Finance Minister Smotrich said, "Is there any reason why we should wake up this morning without the news of this officer's expulsion?"
Channel 12 reports that Alexander Brigade soldiers have been reserve forces near the Lebanese border and in Gaza for almost 200 days since the fighting erupted on October 7, 2023.
Angert's posts on X have been removed, but Israeli media continue to disseminate copies, stirring controversy and alarm.
