ALBAWABA- An Israeli delegation from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has arrived in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, to participate in a session of the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization's (UNESCO) World Heritage Committee.
Although details are limited, it's confirmed that the Israeli delegation is attending the UNESCO conference as observers, consisting of nine members from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Initially, Israel had sought visas for its Foreign Minister and Education Minister to join but withdrew the request due to Saudi hesitation and American pressure.
This marks the first official Israeli government delegation's public official visit to Saudi Arabia, coinciding with reports of ongoing talks between the United States and Saudi Arabia regarding the normalization of relations.
Photographs from the conference show delegation members seated with an "Israel" sign on their table, and an Israeli official expressed gratitude for the opportunity, noting they would stay in Saudi Arabia for the entire duration of the conference, ending on September 25th.
