ALBAWABA- An Israeli drone strike targeted a vehicle on the Khalde highway, just south of the Lebanese capital Beirut, on Thursday, killing one person and injuring at least three others.

Ambulances rushed to the scene as smoke rose from the wreckage in one of the most serious escalations near the capital in recent weeks.

The strike is part of a broader pattern of Israeli aerial attacks across southern Lebanon, which have continued despite a ceasefire agreement brokered by the United States and France in November.

Dozens of Lebanese have been killed in Israeli drone and air strikes since then, with Israel claiming the attacks target Hezbollah ammunition depots and military infrastructure near the border.

The continued strikes have drawn regional concern and are intensifying tensions in an already fragile Middle East, raising fears of a wider confrontation.
