Israeli Foreign Minister Shlomo Ben Ami has postponed his planned trip to Russia because of a vote expected in parliament Tuesday on an opposition bill calling for early elections, a foreign ministry spokesman said Sunday.
"He will postpone his visit to Russia because of a vote," Noam Katz told AFP.
"It has been postponed, not cancelled," he said, but added that no new date had yet been set for the trip.
Ben Ami was due to visit Russia on Monday to discuss the situation in the Middle East after two weeks of Israeli-Palestinian violence that has left more than 280 people dead, most of them Palestinians -- JERUSALEM (AFP)
